The night began politely. Gravesap took the controls a little after eleven and spent the first twenty minutes making the room comfortable, which those who have followed the work understood as an act of preparation rather than mercy. Nobody left during that stretch. Very few spoke.

What followed was unreleased and remains unreleased. Three records, all of them heavier than the room had been built to carry, played without pause and without acknowledgement. The floorboards near the front took the worst of it. A section of them gave in the last twenty minutes and the crowd simply moved around the hole and continued, which is the highest form of respect this scene knows how to offer.

The building was inspected the following morning and closed the same afternoon. No survivors were reported among the cabinets. Gravesap has not spoken about the night and, by long custom, will not be asked.
